RENOLIT ALKORPLAN F range

Mechanically fixed membranes are fastened to the substrate along their longitudinal edge by means of washer tubes or pressure plates and fixings. They are perfectly suited for lightweight, metal deck structures for large industrial buildings, warehouses, logistic centres, etc. They can, however, also be applied to concrete structures or wooden decks. They are recommended for both new and existing buildings, typically on flat roofs as well as pitched roofs.

The RENOLIT ALKORPLAN F range for mechanical fastening has a woven polyester reinforcing, which makes the membranes even more resistant. Mechanically fastened membranes are also available for aesthetic roof solutions, thanks to a broad colour range, standing seam imitation and energy efficiency solutions (cool roof and cool coloured membranes). In case of renovation or demolition, the mechanically fixed membrane can be easily removed and recycled.

RENOLIT ALKORPLAN Mechanical fastening system FAQs

At the overlap, the membrane is hot air welded. The hot air welded joints are at least as strong as the roofing membrane itself. Besides, they give the roof a neat and homogenous finish, without the risks of an open fire. Quick and easy to apply, regardless of weather conditions, the system provides perfect and durable watertightness for the roof.

In a mechanically fastened system, the roofing membrane is attached to the substrate along its longitudinal edges using pressure plates and screws. This method provides a strong and reliable hold, particularly suitable for lightweight structures such as metal decks.

To ensure optimal performance, wind load calculations are carried out to determine the exact number and placement of fasteners, effectively preventing membrane uplift and ensuring long-term stability.
